Just got it back, won't go out of 1st
Here's a little history on my car..
Got it 2 years ago, it hasn't been driven for at least 4 years.
86 IROC with a 700-R4
I went to drive it away from getting brakes done, and the car wont shift out of first.
Any suggestions on what i should do to get this fixed?
Whenever you accelerate, if give it gas up to about 3,000 ,and then let off the gas.
It is like you put the car into neutral. Tach falls down to about a grand. Whenever i give it gas again, the tach gos back up to about 2,500, and then it is like it engages back and i have power, but it doesn't wanna shift..

I bet your brake guys took it out and did a few spectactular burnouts and quickly got traction, or took it for a brake test at high speed and locked up the rears. My father broke my governor a few years ago on my old 86Z while spinning em hard on ice and then hitting dry pavement with low power. It only has plastic gears and thus large g's on the governor will shear them apart.
