Gear Selecter Cable

Well That little plastic bushing in my gear shift selector cable broke down at the transmission, so I picked picked up a different cable (Non OEM) from pepboys and it works like hammered crap. Where can i get this plastic bushing with out having to buy a new cable? and does any one have a part number for it?

On a new cable, preferably one that isnt crap. I know it isnt much help. You are talking about the slotted end that the bolt goes through to hold it to the selector at the trans, right?

I don't know what you mean by a plastic bushing, but there are no servicable parts on the shifter cable, it's replaced as an assembly.

Get a new ACDelco cable. The part number for my 1987 with 700R4 is 2503-3662.

I had to order one this week for a busted bushing. The part number for the cable assembly is 1023 2154. You cannot purchase the plastic bushing, the cable design has changed and it is integrated into the cable end now.
