Got my vig. 2400 stall, just one question!!!
So I got my stall today and was reading the install instructions. It says to splice one of the wires going to the trans and rig up a lock-up swtich I am guessing to ensure proper trans performance all the time. My questions is , IS THIS NECESSARY>?!?!? Can I do without it. I know alot of people running stalls w/o this and I just wanna know if it would adversely effect performance if I opted not to do this. Is there an aftermarket harness I can buy so I don't have to mangle the stock wiring???! Thanks fellas

If the new converter is a non lock up version, you must make a mod to the front pump of the trans. Also,if you have a lock up failure you will fry the trans. If the converter is a lock up version and nothing is preventing the lock up from happening, should only need to install the converter and have fun!

The tranny is Pro-Builts street strip model and the converter is the vig. 2400. Will I need to make this switch mod or would it be more of a track type deal? Thanks

All that switch does is lock up your converter to make 4th gear a "no-slip" direct drive gear...The only hing it will do is lower your transmisison temperature a bit and give you better mpg. 4th gear will not be used on the strip at all.
If you decide to not use lockup at all, you'll just have slighty worse mpg on the highway, and maybe slightly higher trans temperature.

So bolt it and go with maybe a larger trans cooler and a temp gauge? What is a prime operating temp for a 700R4? I have no idea so I would like to install a trans temp gauge to keep an eye on things. Also, where could I tap in to get a reading off the trans temp? Thanks fellas
