according to the search i just did on it ...it is a torque arm bushing .....

if yours is in good shape then dont worry about it but its not a very expensive part to replace and its just alittle added insurance while your alread down there ....

Well... you DO need a bracket not just a bushing. GM apparently use 3 different style outer torque arm brackets over the years. You may luck out and already have the proper style bracket ...I sure didnt. In fact, I have YET to find the bracket I need.

Check out my post about this...

There is another thread on here about this, but I couldnt find it when I searched. GM used 3 different torque arm brackets themselves. 2 of them were popular, 1 of them was sort of uncommon. Unless your car has the right one, you will need the right one. If you search (obviously more thourough than I did) you will find pictures of all three. Another user, I think it may have been CrazyHawaiian, modified his to fit, so he didnt have to get the bracket. Really its a pain in the ***. Its too bad youve already invested in it, cause I know of a kit that lets you use your stock driveshaft, torque arm, mount, crossmember, everything.

This comes with the 700r4 output shaft, spacer block, hardware, dipstick tube, and kickdown cable. The only thing that you need to supply, is the 700r4 tailshaft off your trans. Everything remains the same for you then, your speedo equipment, driveshaft, torque arm, crossmember, all of it. Thats what I run in my car, its awesome.
