Is my rear end trashed?

Every time, well everytime i take a left turn with a little more speed than an average turn (not fast fast) it makes this clunking noise, sounds like it could be something wrong with the differential because it only does it on left turns.

could be a broken coil spring or a bushing beat out, id check that out first.

that sounds alot better than it being in the differential. When i get the 100 bux im going to get the polyurethane bushing and replace all those (w/ the black ones so they dont squeak). While replacing them i'll check out the coils.

Its f*cked...

Isn't that what you wanted to hear?!?!

j/k man... sounds like a possible problem in the rear... check everything exterior first... loose bolts etc...

Id also carefully check teh panhard bar, bolts, and all the bushings there. I was having a similar problem that was caused by one of the bolts not being tight enough and it would move around when under load.

Could be a problem with the spider gears.

My 87 was making a similar noise. It was the rear control or trailing arm bolts. One of them wasnt tight enough and it made a thunking noise when I turned. Also check that your tranny mount isnt trashed. That would make a loud noise when you stepped on the gas. Do you like to go fast into left turns

I would agree with the rest. Gotta be something else. The rear end would make noise all the time. maybe get a $20 inspection at a local garage. They just put it on the lift n look for bad stuff.
