I've been given what appears to be a 3rd gen drum brake rear axle that seems to be intact. I haven't cracked the cover open but I'm guessing it is a 2.73 ratio (open).

I looked in my Haynes manual for this code to determine the year/axle ratio but it's not listed in the Firebird book. Perhaps somebody can check it in the Camaro book and lemme know what vintage and ratio -- thanks.

Pop the cover and count the teeth. That code only tells what the housing originally came with. The gears could have been changed long ago. Could always use some fresh gear oil anyway.

Thanks for looking... Probably the same string of codes that are listed in the Haynes manual for the Firebird.
