T-5 repair

If you own a t-5, don't despair! http://www.thenewsherald.com/stories...40519107.shtml
Read this article, then pull your t-5 and send it to them. For about $200.00, they can make your t-5 good to 700 HP! These guys are the best t-5 people in the country. Their website: libertysgears.com

I read the article.....interesting. I missed the 200 dollar part, but if that's true that means I can get a trans from them rated better than the G-Force I got for 1/10th of the price??

That's awesome! Wish I would've known....

I think the origonal guy mis read it becasue they are alot more than 200 bucks hehehehehe

this was in the post

Liberty Gears' 15 employees produce about 80 Pro Stock manual transmissions per year and charge $7,580 for each unit. Since the transmissions never break and are easy to work on, Liberty is continually developing new gear sets for the transmission.

so 7500 ..... sounds like alot for me

but then you wouldnt have to worry about it anymore AT ALL

There website says they will do a "stock rebuild" for $195, that's a long way from good enough for 700hp.
Liberty services

The $7,580 racing transmission shown below with the straight cut gears looks pretty strong but it sure would make a lot of noise running one on the street.

I don't think THAT transmission has anything to do with a T-5.

The price came from the guy who gave me the info on the company. His next statement was, " I don't know how they can do it so cheap." He's sent transmissions there before, and he's got no reason to BS me. He's doing the heads for my motor, and said I needed to sent the trans to these folks and have it done. "You're gonna need it."Trans is coming out next week.I know part of the process involves heat-treating the gears so they can flex, rather than break. At any rate, we're gonna find out. The last guy that was in this trans charged me $400.00 just to replace the syncros!

I've been seeing a few of these Liberty 5 speeds showing up at the Cruise nights(on some serious street cars)...If I'm not mistaken, besides a lot of whine, you cant downshift,You need to come to a stop, then put it in 1rst and start over
I'm speaking of the trans pictured above..not a T-5 rebuild!
MERRY CHRISTMAS

Barry - If you can get any tranny shop to warranty to 700 HP for a 200 buck T-5 rebuild - then jump all over it! I would!

no clue if car trans can be built in the same way, but my buddy has an "override trans" on his drag banshee where you can shift w/o the clutch but you cant let off untill your in 5th gear or can grab the clutch and coem to a stop and start in 1st again. Same idea? i htink... kinda ha
