700R4 > TH200 ?'s

Hey its been a few months since i have been on here because of my computer getting struck by lightning.
My 82 pace car and my 98 firebird were leagaly stolen so I bought another camaro, it's an 84 sc that has had a TPI swap fom an 85 Iroc
But the 700r4 is bad and im gonna need to replace with an extra th200 I have. Will this tranny hold up to the tpi moter and what all will I have to change?

Thanks in advance

I was pretty sure the 200 used a different cross member as well, or am I mixing it up with the T10?

If it is just the plain TH200, then no. These are weak. Can be identified by the word "metric" stamped on the pan, and no vacuum modulator.

On the other hand, if it is a TH2004r, then yes. Strong enough for T-types and GNs in stock form. I think those had a better servo in them...

Not sure about crossmembers though...

I reamed a 200 in a 1982 elcamino behind a very mild 305. All I did was open up the intake, exhaust, add a tiny cam, and rejet the Q-jet. First time I punched it I heard something shatter and I started slowing down. Shattered the input shaft.

Im almost sure the 200 was meant for the 6 cylinders. I cant imagine any V-8 with one, unless the 262 cid engines from the 1980s had em. Even though it was a 305, dont knock em, as my old 305 TPI used to KILL T-5s. Went through 3 in 2 years.

I wasn't knocking the 305 because mine ran great for a long time. Killed the 700r4 in my van with a 305. That engine would pull the van to high 15 second quarter miles at 85 mile per hour.

Its just a TH200 out of my pace car that held up great with my 350 in it for the last few years.
what about the TC lock up will it work?

And by leagally stolen it means they got repo'd
