I'm not sure. The LT1 bellhousing has a smaller opening for the starter, so the snout on the starter has to be smaller. I'm not sure if "mini starters" have smaller snouts, or just smaller "bodies".

Seems likely that a starter for LT1 would work, with a LT1 bell housing. Don't know that, it's just a guess. Don't know if that's what you'd call a "standard Chevy mini-starter" or not, either.
I'm running a CVR mini-starter with my LT1 T-56. The one with the dual bolt pattern. That's one of the ones with Nippondenso motor. It has no "nose" at all.

The original starters that came in 350 third gens doesn't fit in the bellhousing without grinding.
The original starters that came in 305 T5 third gens do fit.
C4 Vette starters fit. LT1 f-body starters fit. etcetera ad nauseum.

i know non-staggered starters (bolts are whats staggered)(really not sure what blocks use staggerd and which ones don't, i know my 88 sbc uses straight) but mini starters for non staggered starters don't even have a nose cover peice thing that covers the gear that turns the flywheel... its just the gear sticking out...

Find out how many teeth are on your flywheel. If you want to be sure it fits get a mini starter. I have a centerforce flywheel with a mini starter and it works fine. I forget the name tho, I think it starts with a T. I'll get back to you about it soon.

I've been running a GMPP mini-starter for 5 years with no trouble as of yet. Again, it's the snoutless design that will fit both flywheel sizes. The solenoid position is also somewhat adjustable for more header clearance.
