Shift kit problems?

Transmission: 700R4
Shift kit problems?
i just put in the transgo shift kit in and the shifts are improved but the 1-2 is only moderate as is the 2-3 how firm is it supposed to be should i be able to chirp 1-2 everytime?

When you drop the pan, there is a round housing with three bolts holding it in place. Take out the three bolts and lower the housing. There is a spring that sits on the bottom, add one of the large washers that comes with the kit and put the tranny back together. Take the car for a drive, if you still want it to shift harder, add another washer under the spring. It's been a couple of years since I put a shift kit in my car so I don't remember what the housing is called. With two washers, I was able to chirp the tires on the 2-3 shift as well as the 1-2 shift. I kept just one washer in, tho. Hope that helps you out.

mdricken could be right. Like I said, it's been a couple of years since i did mine so i don't remember everything. i do know that i only needed one washer to make the 1-2 shift spin the tires.
