How do drive shaft remove?

This is a continuation of my speedo gear story.
I got the drive gear and today
I spent the day locating a tranny leak and trying
to remove the driveshaft.

The tranny leak was coming from the tranny cooler line
at the tranny.
I was not successful in fixing it and I was hoping it was
only loose, but I couldnt get a tool in there to find out.
No clearance in there looks like I will have to remove the
dip tick oil tube to have a shot at it.

So I went on to the speedo gear.
I removed the torque arm and cleaned it 1/2 inch of grime.
Then I removed the 2 brackets that I thought held on
the drive shaft but I couldnt remove it.
I looked at the manual and I did what it said only 4 bolts
and 2 bracket retainers then it said to move the driveshaft rear and slide it out.
I cant take it out and I dont want to start hammering away
before I can get some advice.
thanks in advance

use a prybar to pry it forward a few inches into the transmission. then lower the rear end of the driveshaft so it doesnt hit the rear end, and pull it out of the tranny. it should slide right out.

stick a screwdriver behind the ujoint and give it a small tap to work it lose from where it has been set. then the driveshaft should fall, and you can pull it out of the tranny.. pull it straight out.
