th350 ?
i got an 84 camaro in a field for a bill, put in 350 motor and got a 350 tranny rebuilt and got it in.but i do not now what i need to make it work:ie the linkage i need or how to get the torque arm to bolt up,driveshaft length(6in)and also the best rearend for a daily driver.i could really use a walk through so i dont screw it up.i am also haveing prob with the dipstick tube does not match up.the car used to have a 200 and the crossmember seemed to match up i just think i may have gone over my head on this one but the trans was free and with an 80 dollar kit it is done.please help.
The transmission in the picture is not a TH350, but the
dipstick and tube for a late '70's-early '80's Malibu should
fit it to your Camaro. Get a shifter cable bracket for a
late '70's-early '80's Firebird or Camaro w/TH350. Your GM
parts guy should be able to order one for you. The
200 driveshaft and crossmember should fit. There is a lot of
info on this site about the torque arm bracket. The cooler
lines will have to be bent a little to fit. You could make
new ones from 5/16" brake line.

no kidding. I went and checked that out on my car, and I don't have the adjuster in that spot. (phew...) they look identical. is the 250 a good transmission?

honestly, I'd stick it in and cal it good. if it was rebuilt, you know it's nearly new, after reading in my tranny books it's the same dimensions as a th350, and it'll use the same stuff. if it blows up, go find one in a junkyard... they're everywhere.
