T-5: Stick flops in 4th gear
T-5: Stick flops in 4th gear
I've got a 91 1LE that I race in SCCA American Sedan. It still has the stock T-5 and 3.73 rear end.
Last weekend, near the end of a race, as I would accelerate and shift into 4th, I noticed some jerkiness and saw the stick shift kicking around pretty wildly - probably moing 6-8 inches forward to back.
It seemed ok in 1st thu 3rd, and still moved in 4th, but something's definately not right.
Any idea what's causing this? I'm assuming something has worn or broken inside the T-5, but I've not pulled the tranny yet. Nothing else is obviously wrong...
