I just got my vigilante 2800 today, and will be ordering my probuilt street/strip auto next week. Along with these i am installing 3.42 gears. So far my best is 13.98 on nitto's, but im wondering if the torque converter will pick up much??? Before long i'll have heads/cam combo goin in so thats why i got such an expensize converter. Anyways with P.I. 2800, new 700r4, and 3.42's what kind of times should i see???

I would guess 13.6x . Keep that 60' time down and your set.

13.5-13.7s in good weather on a good track are entirely possible. Fastest my car ran with stock tranny/converter, 3.27s, and Nittos was 13.98 at 98 with a 2.02 60' time. After installing a Vigilante 2600, Probuilt Tranny, and Dana 44 with 3.54 gears it now runs 13.5s (13.55 @ 97.4 best) with a best 60' time of 1.79. The only other changes were replacing my mail order PROM with my own DIY and an LS1 driveshaft. It should run faster as I'm still learning what it likes.

well i finally got around to putting in my built 700r/vigilante combo. Went to the track a couple nights ago:

60ft: 1.77
1/4: 13.73 @ 98

Not bad i just need to get my gears installed and i should be set!

My friend and I both have the S-10 converter and my best was 1.84 and his was a 1.81 with a tiny bit of loose traction still.
