Clutch Problem
The clutch master cylinder went bad about a week ago on my ’89 IROC. I replaced both the master and slave cylinders. The problem is; now the clutch has to be all the way out before it engages and the engines revs high while the car barely moves. At first I attributed this to the failure of the master cylinder, but that has since been replaced. I’ve re-bled the system twice and nothing has changed. The clutch pedal is firm and has full travel. I replaced the clutch friction disc, throw out bearing and pilot bearings (not the pressure plate) two years ago. I don’t race or even drive it hard enough for it to go bad so soon. It does take off in second and third so the friction disc should still be good and with it being a hydraulic clutch I don’t see any adjustments that I may have missed. Anybody have any ideas.
