well i have always thought of the 700R4 as being a pretty weak tranny but do any of you think it will stand up behind a blown 350 with possibility of NOS later on??

i would like to have OD to get a few MPG but i think the th-400 might hold up a bit longer. I know ill probably hear wtf are you doing putting an auto behind that thing but after putting about $20,000 into the motor, ill be waiting a while to do a manual swap.

 

i've heard of 700r4's holding up to 500+hp bigblocks with slicks at the track on several occasions (and im sure lots of people here can testify) so it all would depend on how you build and maintain it, the 700r4 is no tranny to be underestimate

they're cheap, efficent, fast and durable when teamed with a shiftkit and a good stall.

20,000 into a motor is a whole lot of money, treat the build of the 700r4 with as much love and it'll love you back

 

its 20k canadian $$, so its not really much lol

I just wish i could find an old 3rd gen somewhere close with a 5/6spd.
