What the hells wrong with OD?

When i drive and it shifts into 4th(OD) at about 40 mph it'll get stuck at 1000rpms and bog when i hit the gas. I have to hit the gas 1/2 way to get it to drop gear, Then it'll go back into 4th and bog. Around 50 if i let go of the gas the car starts to jerk back and forth. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG?

to adjust that if you bring it somewhere.. a good mechanic that is not going to try and rip you off will prolly go out there.. and do it and be done in 5 minutes lol.. for the quick adjust.. if he adjusts it per the pressure specs per gear, then it could take a bit longer. and cost a bit more.. but then you know for a fact it will be right on.

As for where it is, it will be a cable on the throttle body. ussually below the throttle cable.

yea
Mine are all carbed as well. just figured you may have something else.. Yea the cable will be the bottom cable closest the carb, and will have a "D" shape button on it (might be hard to see depending on the bracket you have it set in)

I saw three cables on the throttle. theres one closest to the manifold that its a thin cable, that runs by the distributor and disappears....it had a little bit of play on it. I called my old boss that's a pretty good mechanic but he doesn't wanna do it. Should i go to a trans shop and see if they wanna tinker with it? Or is a big pain in the *** to do myself.

yea. the one that goes torward the distributor and then disapears behind it is the one. For me. mine have always been a pain in the A to adjust.. the books say to do a few things and then it is supposed to self adjust.. self adjust my A**. Anyhow.. you might be able to get it close.. but if you want it dead on.. i would take it to a transhop. then you know it is right.. Better to spend 50$ to get it adjusted than 1000 later on because it took out the clutchpacks and you need a rebuild

im pretty sure i'll take it someplace but i was wondering that my Caprice does the samething and that has a 305 TBI. Do you think it would be the same problem my camaro has? I know that when i checked my car the cable seemed a little loose. I haven't checked the caprice yet but now that you're telling me its that about the camaro, now im thinking the Caprice could have the same problem. It is a 90 and my camaro is an 87 so i guess time has taken its toll?

depends on the exact make of 700r4.. if it was a 4L60E then those did not have it i think.

But yea worth a check. everything wears. and if you ever disconnect the top end or disconnect any of those cables you have to readjust it every single time.. like it can not remember what it was suposed to do. My opinion.. i hate it. and i am saving for a t56 lol
