TV cable adjustment problem

Not sure how to adjust it...Under WOT it shifts way to soon, and the shift seems slow and sloppy. If I hold the gear by putting it in 1st then waiting untill I want to shift, it does. Also when coming to a stop the trans clunks down from 2nd to 1st. This is happening now after I switched my throttle body for another one that I ported. It does have more top end HP and low down grunt, but the trans isn't having it. 700-r4 with a GMPP 350 crate in a 92 suburban....
Please advise!
THANKS!!

Also it dosnt shift right at part throttle, like it takes to long, and then does a firm shift.....I'm pretty sure it's out of adjustment....

I looked at the tech articles, and it's not the same to adjust for me. There are 3 cables going to the throttle body, one I know is the throttle, another is the Tv cable, but what it the 2rd one for?
This is pissing me off. It seems like under WOT the TV wont open all the way. Anyone know how to adjust it?

i might be able 2 help u out man, i had the same problem. ive only got two lines though. not 3 or whatever. what u do is u press on the bottom one's (tv cable) adjuster. its like a black button u can press on. press it in and move the cable so its end piece is up against the part on the throttle body. then wile still holding it down, open the throttle all the way, let go of the button and let it go back slowly itll click a few times and the end of the cable should be flush (up against) the piece of the throttle body like it should be. because right now its real loose right? if this doesnt help it could be disconnected at the trans.
good luck man!

the other should be cruise control. Im having the same problem too. My is when i accel it will smoothly shift through 1,2,3,4 but get stuck in 4th at 40 at 1000 rpms. I don't know if you know why mine is doing it let me know.

The 3rd cable should be the cruise control cable.

There's 2 ways to adjust the TV cable. The first way is pretty much how 91blue_fire mentioned. Just find the throttle bracket with the TB cable on it, press in the D-shaped button on the TV cable, pull the black cable towards the firewall as far as it will go, and then release the button. Get in the car, and slowly depress the accelerator pedal to WOT. You should hear the TV cable click. At WOT, the cable should be at maximum tension. Test drive and see how the transmission acts.

The second way is to take it to a professional transmission shop and have them adjust the TV cable according to pressure readings from a transmission pressure gauge hooked up to the tranny. I've heard that this method is a lot more accurate.

I got it. It now shifts properly. You actually have to move the cable housing all the way back to the bracket. The "D" shaped button is very hard to press....Atleast on my unit it is. Just took some time to get it right. A good site for info is:

so you need to remove the TV off the bracket and pull it towards the firewall while the tip is still on the throttle????? Because im having trouble in 4th at 40 where it sits at 1000 rpms and i was told to check the TV cable. my old boss did it where he pressed the "d" button and with the engine off he pulled the throttle to WOT and it made it a little better but not as good. should i do it the other way probably get a better result? Let me know thanks
