I have a spec stage 2. I had a lot of trouble getting it setup correctly, I don't know if it had to do exactly with the clutch but I had pain. After the installs were finished this clutch has hooked pretty well, but I haven't beaten it enough yet with gas prices so high. With your power levels I'd either get a stage 2 or stage 3, but for streetability, I'd say stage 2.

I'm unsure why you've discarded CenterForce as a choice. Mine functions great.

I had a caenterforce on my 91 back when it was close to stock. Best clutch I have ever felt. Totally happy with it.

But now with my 500 HP 383 and a 12 bolt running through a T-56, I am def running a spec stage 3. If I had more $ I would go with the McLeod twin disk set up. To bad it is over a grand.

The spec 3 is around half that.

I am running a RAM Powergrip. It chatters some, the pedal is kinda stiff and the engagement is pretty quick, my fiancee has a heck of a time driving it, but when the clutch comes out at 5000rpm with slicks on it gets the job done. This clutch bites as hard as any other manual trans car I have ever been in. It never slips ever, not even the smallest amount. I realize I do not have earth rotating torque like some one here but overall this clutch is doing a good job for me.
