Car: 1962 impala
Engine: 305 tpi/1985 z-28
Transmission: 700 R4
what manual trans would work?

I have an 1985 z-28 motor "305" tpi motor and 700r4 trans Im putting into a 1962 impala speedster. A what? 1962 impala speedster top removed winshield lowered 2" no rear seat . you know a speedster.anyway what manual trans will work with the 305 tpi motor. t56 or what was available in 85 ? I know you couldnt get the manual with this motor but shurly someone has done this before.THanks Tim

Basically anything can be made to work but i have heard mustang t5s mount cockeyed so they might be tricky.

Engine: 350, comp cams magnum 282h cam, edelbrock performer rpm intake, carter 625 cfm carb, msd hei upgrade kit, milodon gear drive, crane cams 1.6 rollers, more 2 come!!
Transmission: th350, 2600 stall, stage 3 shift kit
the fbody t-5 are the ones that mount cockeyed......

Axle/Gears: Moser 12 bolt 411
Forget about the ford tranny it has a diffent imputshaft . You can find a W/C T-5 cheep that will bolt in with the addition of pedals and some Hydros . I belive the bell is what puts you on the angle ,get an impala bell that will adapth the tranny you want . If you plan on making some HP go with a T-56 . Buy a complet parts car if your budget will allow you . They also sell after market trans like the TKO/500 , TKO/600 & aftermarket T-56's . For the price of something like that you maybe able to find a parts car with all the stuff you need for the auto-man swap .

The Impaler sounds bad Good luck.
