Trans Am 700R4 to Corvette 700R4 HELP

I am swapping my trans am 305 tpi + trans to a '1986 vette tpi + trans. I switched over the tailshaft from my trans am however, the vette 700r4 case blocks me from installing the stock (trans am) tranny mounting bracket.

Is there any companies making a tranny mounting bracket for this swap, or do I have to custom fabricate something, or reinstall the stock firebird 700r4?

You could swap the tailshaft housing, but the Corvette 700R4s usually have the mounting holes in the wrong spot anyway. Why not just keep your existing 700R4?

Thanks for the quick replies...

I was trying to adapt the vette 700r4 since I already put it in. Since it doesn't seem like its going to work, I am going to reinstall the original 700r4 with the vette torque converter.

Hopefully the Trans Am 700r4 will bolt onto the vette 350 with no modification?

To my knowledge it is not possible to use the vette case. It has the mount area machined out. Drilling and tapping is not possible. Don't throw away the vette stuff. Others(myself included) would by them.

Im going to reinstall my original trans am 700r4 on saturday.

Will the ECM from my 1985 Trans Am be able to handle a 1986 Corvette 350 or do I have ti upgrade my ECM, or computer.

I am also going to post this tread in the proper tech area.
