Shift kit install...Lost 2 gears!!!

Hey guys I installed a b&m shift kit some time ago on my 92 camaro with a 700r4. As soon as I pulled out to test drive it the car would not go into 2nd at all and until about 2,800 rpm it would finally shift into 3rd. So now I have 1st and 3rd gear and 2nd gear has turned into neutral. When I get the car into third gear and drive normally if I let off the gas a little it acts as if it is in neutral and then when I slowly press back onto the gas it gets back to the rpms of 3rd gear. If I take off in 1st and floor it, it will not shift into 3rd at all unless I let off the gas and give it about a second to do so. Under slow normal driving it will shift into 3rd at about 2,800 rpm. This was all after I installed the b&m shift kit and was wondering what exactly is the cause and the remedy.
Thanks everyone for the help beforehand.

SOunds like something wasn't installed right. Did the kit require you to drill out any holes, take out or add any little *****? SOunds like one of these steps might have been missed., or on of the ***** fell out.

Yeah it did require drilling out some holes and adding some *****. My dad and I did the install and I remember him being unsure if one of the ***** was going into the correct place. Is it possible that it could have thrown everything off. If so can it be put in the correct place and the problem fixed?

If thats what the problem was it should be just fine after the ***** back where its supposed to be. That is unless you keep driving it while its not shifting right.
