upper rear control arms
has anyone ever put/fabbed rear upper control arms under a third gen F body,
just like the B and G bodies have ?
and therefore removed the TQ arm and panhard bars ?
i dont see how it could be all that difficult to do other than attaching the arms to the diff housing in which would just require a welder and some steel stock
either that or has anyone set up one of these with control arms like in the nascars and the 72 older GM trucks ?
pivoting trailing arms with axle tubes clamped to the ends of the arms
trying ot think of what i could use for arms, cant use truck oens cuz theyre too big to fit under these cars, or at least too long anyways
i wonder why GM thought that these cars should have a TQ arm and pan hard bars,
instead of upper arms like G and B bodies
hmm..
anyone know ?
thanks

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Attaching them to the rear would be the easy part.
How would you attach them to the CAR?
Yes people put 4-link kits in these cars all the time, to race them; but only after the procedure known as a "back-half".

easy,
wouldnt be that hard,
bolt and weld plates(with the tabs welded onto them) to the body tub
tabs for the through bolt for end of the arms, like on stock G and B bodies

There's nothing back there to weld to, besides sheet metal skin. It would be about as effective as welding a trailer hitch to a quarter panel. There's certainly nothing substantial like a frame back there, such as A & B & G bodies have, or trucks.
That's why you have to back-half the car in order to install a 4-link.
