people yelled at me, and told me what i want is not as important as what i need. i need my car to work, i want a stick. i know i can get an auto built for my car for around the same price as a non built up stick shift. i dunno still, if you think the jackson racing one is good, next to its price, i might just do that and worry about other stuff for now.
ive also been considering a level 2 bowtie overdrive.

If you really want a manual transmission, don't waste your money on an automatic...especially when you have a good one that will do in the meantime. It's your car, and you should absolutely do what you want to with it. Don't be so swayed by others' opinions all the time. Figure out what you want to do with the car, do some research of your own and come up with a plan and a budget. In the meantime, if you need the car driveable, put in the transmission you have. If it's rebuilt well, it'll almost definitely last until you are able to do what you'd like with the car. Heck, my completely stock 700R4 has 220 000km on it and works as well as it ever did (well, until I tore the car apart and made it my Sunday afternoon 'toy'...now, I'm convinced it works well enough that I need to find a roller to put it in).

my friend ditched me again this weekend, and i cant do it myself. between the 4 people that would help me out with it, only 1 came and couldnt do it...aside from that ive been ditched about 10 times by the person not answering their phone and not hearing from them till a few days into the week. i picked up my friend from frederick on friday to come over saturday. he called saturday morning on his way. i must have called him a billion times since yesterday morning and i havent heard a word from him. im so pissed. thats the last time, im gonna have to pay some one to do it for me. im still deciding what i want to do, but if everyone keeps ditching me i cant do anything. im trying to find rides to work for the whole week right now and its not working out well at all.

Here my sugguestion and I know that I will be frame for it.
4L65e or 4L80e Why?
Pladdle shiftter input gives you the advangage of shifting gears without having to deal with a clutch. Or you can leave these transmissions in the auto mode and just cruise. Please see my thread on 4L60e install on my 82 Bird.
I see that you need to be able to drive you car while in process of upgrade.
For example I have completed all of the electronic install on my Firebird for the 4L60e transmission. The work to install the electronics has been completed on the weekends, a Saturaday here and there. And the car has been completely driveable thoughout the entire process.
Now that my 82 Firebird is ready for the 4L60e, it should only take the AMMCO dealer about an hour to install it. I know that this type of upgrade is expensive, but I think the options that this upgrade will give me is well worth it.
But please remember a few things.
1) Don't depend on any anyone else to get the job done.
2) Expect delays and plan a workaround. You need your car to get to work.
3) Did I say plan. I mean PLAN.
4) Reserch. Reserch everything that is required to complete any upgrade on your car. If you don't reserch then delays will occur and you will be without your wheels(aka Transportation).

ive done plenty of research about both. for whats in the jackson trans it seems like a good deal. and with that much feedback, it seems more worth it than the t5 swap.

If my new 4L60e brakes, I can take it to any GM dealer and they will have to make good on it.
If your Jackson brakes where are going to go?

there was this other seller dtrans55 and their profile reads as follows from 700r4s:
We are still paying shipping at this time but the price of home delivery has forced us to charge a $10.00 fee for this service. Our return policy is as follows. In a rare case our tranny does not work when you receive it we will pay shipping back to us and go back through the unit. After the buyer runs the tranny it is the buyers place to pay round trip shipping and we will repair it under warranty. All sales are final and any repairs will be done or approved by us at dtrans55
a little pricier, but with no shipping and that kind of service i would trust them. however, they only got about 115 feedback, but it is 100%. heres their stuff.

i was thinking of going with the super stock...does this guy sound like bs?
And you can give a best offer.

If you new transmission brakes, then the down time, the time that you can not drive your car is a problem.
Since the transmission can not be ship overnight, dependent on distance from your town to there's, we talking 2-4 days each way. And then you're going to have to pay someone to remove the transmission and re-install it. Weighing in some of these facts are you really sure that you want to buy a transmission off of EBAY. If you are, go for it.
