I bought a complete swap kit, but im sure the parts are nothing special. i was told to get a new clutch disc, pressure plate, and hydraulic set up. do you agree with this?

i would definitely get a new disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bushing and have the flywheel surfaced. I would probably try to re-use the hydraulics. I reused them on my swap and they've worked fine for a few months now, just depends on if you want to gamble since the clutch master is no fun to install.

is there another name for the throwout bearing? like a release bearing?

i bought an 88 v8 tranny. and from somebody else i got the rest of the swap parts. the entire swap, except the torque arm mount. the guy who sold me the swap told me the clutch in the package was new and he didnt remember what brand and it was for performance.

go to thirdgen.org but not the forums. then on the left click technical articles. scroll down that page until you hit a section of links in transmission. there will be one called auto to manual swap in an fbody. they fail to mention the torque arm mount however.
