Changing T-5 question

Ok my car cureently has a WC T-5 and it is shot. My simple question is that if I were to come across a cheap non-WC tranny would it bolt right in, and will it affect how fast my car is? Thanks guys.

Yes, you can interchange them. As far as affecting your acceleration, it will a bit in 1st. I believe the WC T5's had a better 1st gear ratio. But I don't think you would notice too much unless its a track car.

Just remember to swap your speedo gear(s).

No and Yes, when it comes to T-5's there are 18 spline shafts and 28 spline shafts (might be off on the numbers, been awhile) The V-6 used the lower number shaft while, of course, the V-8 the larger. So, a V-8 T-5, non-world class will fit right in. But remember, if your car runs a VSS speedometer (electronic) and you pick up a manual speedo cable transmission, like I think all non W/C T-5's were, you'll have problems there too.
