Not exactly sure on the question. Are you looking for axles, a complete diff or just the gear set with carrier?

The only factory axles that will fit into a third gen housing are out of another third gen. 82 - 89 have 26 spline. 90-92 are 28 spline.

The only diff housing that will fit into a third gen is from another third gen or a fourth gen. Because of the torque arm mount, no other diff will fit without changing the rear suspension.

As for gears and carrier, GM produced a lot of 7.5/7.625 diffs. You can pull the gears and carrier out of an S10 and put them into your 10 bolt. Many of the RWD drive cars also had that tiny diff but you need to know how to identify them. Some also came with the 8.5" 10 bolt.

I was looking for complete drum to drum, but you answered my question.......I'll need to find one out of a third gen,,,,
I think finding a limited slip in a s10 is going to be pretty hard to find...

but hey thanks anyway

Sometimes it's just hard understanding the terminology

Common: Carrier/Posi/LS
Proper: Differential

Common: Axles
Proper: Half shafts

Common: Differential
Proper: Axle or Diff housing

I know all about that, I work for Eaton Corp. on semi trucks, axles brakes, clutches and transmissions and deal with carriers, (pigs), chunks and whatever else someone might call them....

no discounts on carriers though I've tried
