what tranny mount to get? how to fix?

my car has a broken tranny mount. how do i fix this

more importantly, what tranny mount should i get? GM wants somewhere around 100 for a mount. i see them on Summit for 50 bucks. what would you recommend for a street driven car with a shift kit, 3.73's, and reliability in mind?

where am i supposed to place the jack under the transmission?

Put a piece of 2x6 under the pan & jack from there.

Polyurathane shouldn't matter with stock motor mounts. Polyurathane is more durable than you're off the shelf OEM rubber types. I've been using an OEM AutoZone replacement for a long time with my 2500 RPM tq converter, but I also use a Spohn tq arm that doesn't put pressure on the mount. I'd spend the cash for the polyurathane one.

IMO only time you run into trouble is when you're using solid transmission mounts with rubber or polyurathane motor mounts. The motor tqs over and the transmission does not give at all and usually results in cracked case. Or you're using both solid mounts on the motor and transmission. You have to be very careful about that. Usually the fix for that is to use solid mounts for the motor and polyurathane for the transmission, so it has some give.
