T56 Hard to shift into first And Reverse when car is running

Problem 1
I have a 91 camaro that has the T56 swap. Its getting progressivly harder to shift into 1st gear while the car is running if its shut off its fine. it pops right in. Is this an adjustment or maybe is the slave cyl not working properly. Also the shaft on the slave cyl to the pedal leaks a little as the pedal gets wet from time to time but I rarely have to add any fluid maybe once every 9 days or so.

Problem 2
Also What are the details to the reverse lockout on this trans I cannot shift into reverse while car is running I have never been able to but it jumps in just fine while car is off. I was told by kevyn the guy I purchased it from that I have to get the reverse lockout and hook it up. Anyone have any knowledge on this.

If I'm sitting at a light with the car in first and my foot on the clutch the car trys to move forward slowly so I have to hold my foot on the brake Last time I check if your foot is on the clutch the trans is disingaged as long as you have it pushed in all the way correct me if I'm wrong. This is the first standard I have owned

Your 3rd problem might be causing your 1st problem since the clutch is not fully disingaged so I would look into that first, either that or your Syncro's are on there way out.

Not sure what to say about your problem 2 since your reverse lockout should be on the trans now unless he figured out a way to plug the gaping hole it would leave if it was not there. And if it was there you should be able to overpower the spring and muscle the shifter into reverse at any time (with 2 hands if needed) unless there is some problem with it not shifting with the car running, going back to the 3rd problem or internal. The way the reverse lockout works is it needs power for the solenoid to upen the gate or what ever you want to call it so it shifts no problem or your can just overpower the spring like i said before. Some guys run the wires to the break peddle and hook up there for thier power or you can do what i did and take out the reverse lockout, open it up and cut a coil off the spring so it's much easier to muscle it into reverse.

you are describing the exact Symptoms my 99 Camaro SS had. I bought a new clutch, Pressure Plate, flywheel, and slave cylinder, Thinking that I would replace everything while I was i there.

turned out to be a bad Pi lot bearing Causing the input shaft to Continue Moving even with the clutch engaged.

this caused the Shift into first to be hard and even -caused th gears to grind Sometimes

actually it was the clutch master the stupid thing is made of plastic aparently one of the bolts came out causing one of the ears to break off at the firewall and well needless to say the plastic doesn';t hold up to my foot and she went out the firewall 195 dollars later shes better then when I first got her reverse is a little tricky though must be that hammer shifter

That thread will give you an idea of how reverse lockout works as well as a few ways around it (freeze plug the hole) and how to make it work (wire the solenoid to the brake lights).
