pilot bearing removal

just did a clutch and jegs tech line told me to get the pilot bushing out pack some grease behind the bushing/bearing the find a solid pin of some sort to TIGHTLY go through the bearing then smash it with a hammer and the grease having no where to go, will force the bearing out... i had my doubts but it worked great, even with a out-of-round pilot bearing it worked. i used the back of a 3/8's drive extension and wrapped 2 rubber gloves around it to make it seal as well as it could and bloop popped right out. hope this is useful.

Yup.... that's the standard way of doing those. Works amazingly even though it sounds pretty lame!!

I used a clutch alignment tool. The bearing wouldn't move when I wacked away with a normal hammer--four-pound sledge and out she came.
