Yank Converter Question!!!

They asked all the questions because they are actually trying to find a stall that is going to work the best with your setup, you dont want a stall thats too low or high!

OK.... WTF is going on? why did my post go to the top of the thread?...

I understand they are trying to find a stall and speed that will work for my combo. My question is: Are they asking too many questions or did Yank ask too little? As in, can Yank nail my converter speed without as much information?

Yank Converter Question!!!

I ordered a Yank Eliminator converter yesterday. Then I started overthinking. They did not ask me very much about my engine. ATI and BTE and etc asked me specifics like rod length, compression, cam LSA, etc. Should I be concerned or is all this other information overkill and too detailed? Thanks

What exactly did yank ask you?

Edit: Cool, this post came out normal... must have been a ford guy on the thread before

This thread is going to be one hell of a jumble for anyone else trying to read it!

I have Yank's SS 3600 and the converter is very, very streetable. I fact so streetable I wish I had gone with the SS4000 or the new PE4200 You will be very happy if you have low gears like 3.73 or 4.10

JerryWho,

Maybe your Yank SS3600 is actually tighter than you think? For example, if you put that converter behind a big block making 700 hp, it would stall higher.

Does it actually stall at 3600? Did Yank ask you alot of questions when you ordered? Which ones?

When I ordered it from Yank my combo was all stock with Headers, base and runners and I got 3400 rpm running 13.2x with 1.8x 60ft Then a 200 shot got 4050 rpm running 11.6x 1.5x 60ft The next combo was stock short block 225-234 at 50 cam with 200cc Dart pro 1 aluminum heads and a Stealth ram this got 3200 rpm running 12.5X with 1.7x 60ft My car is very light (2800lbs) and with 3.73 gears both make the converter feel tighter. My next combo (700hp and 800fpt) will push the stall way up and I can't wait to see how high.
