confused on gears

I have an zexel torsen limited slip gear driven unit in my car with 3.73 gears. I'd like to convert it back to the factory gear set...which im guessing is 3.23's? In order to do this..what do i need? Just a new ring and pinion gear?...im alittle stumped on how this all works...

eh its ok i guess. The tranny needs some work and i deff need some tuning. The shift point suck as well...spinning a tpi to 6K is totally pointless haha. Other then that, she runs pretty good. I want to change back to 3.23s because A. i heard the 3.73s are a bit much for my combo and B. Id like some gas mileage back.

any idea on how much a shop would charge to get this done?

shops around my area charge in the neighborhood of $200-$300 for a gear setup! If I were you, spend the money on a dial indicator and magnetic base and do it yourself. It is actually very easy if you pay attention and keep the parts clean. This way, you will be able to do it for other people and possibly make some money too.

That's awesome. I haven't seen that much damage in a while. Your best bet is to get with harbor freight, northern tools, or eastwood. These would give you the best price, but they would obviously have to ship it to you. By the way, if you need any help, I have done gm rearends for a while and there is alot of knowledge on this board.
