I've got one in the Iroc. I'll shortly be swapping to 4.10's. But they were hard to find.

The 3.45 is probably the most rare of any ever produced. I think only from 1987 to 1989..... You can get new 3.45 Ring & Pinion gears shipped to you from Austrailia that will fit a 9 Bolt rear. I just brought a new gear set for mine.

9Bolt.com seems to have gone away...

I just bought a new 3.45 Ring & Pinion set from Motospecs.
john.weir@motospecs.com

Shipped from Aus to Calif. Cost was Aus $326 + Aus $165 shipping FedEx. That's $364 total US$.

Ring & Pinion P/N 0578-138036
Pinion Nut P/N 0576-149047

I bought a master installation kit from West Coast Differentials in Rancho Cordova, CA. Comes with Pinion & Diff. Bearings/Spacers/Shims/Crush & some Ring Gear Bolts. West Coast Differentials: Ring & Pinion Gears, Posi's, Lockers & Axle Parts
Ph.# 800-510-0950

P/N IK GM7.75 $135 + Tax & Shipping

Here's another vendor for parts: www.jawsgear.net

You'll also probably want to get Axle Bearings & Seals and a Cover Gasket from Autozone or such.

You also need to get Limited Slip Axle Additive from GM
P/N 1052358

i think i need to learn more about this differential style. it is a cone type. i dont know much about the cone types. also i know i can get gear set for this rear end but the problem is finding the lsd when it wears out. were can i find one of them. or do you just add shims to tighten it up.

Older thread, but I found it cause I looking for some 4.11's. I emailed John over at Motospecs asking about anything above a 3.73. 3.73 or 3.70 seem pretty common to find, but much numerically higher is different. I thought I would share the information.

thanks for your enquiry chris
we generally have available 2 sets for you the unfotunate part is that we are not expecting stock into our store until mid june 06.
3.91 part no 0575-138042 @a$384.25 each plus gst and freight
4.10 part no 0575-137043 @ a$384.25 each plus gst and freight
i would suggest if you place orders for these you will require 22mm nuts to suit , they are a$3.08 each plus gst and freight

regards
