Help! Tell me I didin't just screw my tranny? (Vette servo issue)
I had a hell of a time getting the old servo out. I had a screw driver in and around the bottom of the cover trying to get it off. Well it finally shot out of the side of the tranny. When it did that it caught me off guard, and I somehow jammed the scredriver into the smooth cylinder surface that the servo pistons ride up against. It's a very, very small knick. One that catches my fingernail none the less. Will I be ok if I smooth out the knick with some scotchbright or something? The knick is probably smaller than a pin head. I hope I didin't just screw myself

Knock the burr off the nick and don't lose sleep over it. Do not try to work out the entire mark and change the shape of the bore.

Thanks, and I was losing sleep over it. By the way. Why does my car already have the Vette servo in it? I discovered it when it fell into my hand. It's stock.

The f-body transmissions that I have been into did not have the vette servo. I heard that some did get it though. The years and/or engine combos that got the vette servo are unknown to me.
