TA/MAC Girdle Question

Anyone had any problems getting the 10 perimeter bolts to start when installing one of these covers? It almost seems as thought the bolts aren't quite long enough for mine. My kit came with flat washers and lock washers for each bolt. No way any of them will start with both washers and only some would start with just the flat washer. There were a few that I thought I screwed up the threads in the housing- they kept wanting to start then pop loose. I took the cover off and ran all of the bolts all the way down into the hole until they bottomed out- so I know the threads are fine. The gasket appeared to be out of the way- so I don't think that is what was giving me problems. Just curious as to if I was the only one that had this happen.

You need to buy some bolts that are 1/2 in. longer

1/2" longer than stock or 1/2" longer than what came in the kit? I could see why I would need longer bolts than what was in there stock- but why in the world would MAC sell me a cover but still give me replacement bolts that are the same length as stock? Just my luck- this entire project sucks- simple things don't even go right- let alone the hard parts.
