problem with nail on governor gear assembly
so i just pulled out the governor gear assembly on my 700R4 because the plastic gear broke apart. i got the new gear installed on the assembly, but realized one of the two nails that hold the governor gear assembly together needed to be replaced, the only problem now is i'm having trouble flattening out the tip of the nail so it won't fall out of the assembly, any ideas for doing this? is this called crimping?

Its gonna require some angry hand tools to flatten that metal like that... I'd recommend either getting a whole new governor assembly from the dealer, or the other option is to buy the B&M Governor Recalibration Kit, which comes with new pins that use e-clips to retain them..

yea that's what i figured, and i also found that B&M recalibration kit online. i just wanted to make sure i wasn't missing something about how to flatten that nail, the bottom line is its nowhere near easy. thanks, i'll price a new assembly and compare it to the calibration kit.
