Kick-Down Throttle Adjustment
Right now my car is in about 6000 pieces being modded/fixed/updated... but ever since I purchased the car, the kick-down does not function properly. When at WOT(wide open throttle) the car does not downshift... it only accelerates from the current gear. The kick-down throttle is properly connected at the transmission and by the throttle-body and appears to function properly. Inside the transmission, one can toy with the kick-down line and the tranny appears to react fine. Could too much slack cause a failure? Any other ideas? The car is being finished tomorrow morning/afternoon, lemme know please!

It sounds like the TV cable isn't doing its job. How is the trans shifting? The TV cable will alter the pressure in the trans and cause the shifting to suffer also. If everything else is ok, I would think there is a problem with the valve or the cable could be stretched.

Ok, sorry but 'one Cannot toy with the throttle valve cable'
It has one and only one correct setting.
It is not like the earlier trannys which have a kickdown cable, this is a throttle valve cable which tells the tranny what the motor is doing and adjusts line pressures accordingly.
Basically the TV cable does the job of both the kickdown cable and the vac modulator of the earlier trannys.
Now your mixing me up with the manual valvebody bit. Is it, or is it not a manual valvebody?
