reverse input piston

Ok here is one for you guys, how are u suppose to put the piston in with the lip seals on without damaging them

petroleum jelly, patience, and a lip seal installer.

there is no lip seal installer with the reverse input clutch i dont think, there is one for the forward clutch and the overrun clutch

the lip seal tool works for all the pistons. You have to keep slight pressure while running the tool around the circumference.

A .005 feeler guage works in a pinch.

Transmission: T56, 5-speed, 700R4, C4, T176, semi-auto 2-speed
Axle/Gears: 3.73, 3.90, 4.88, 3.55, 3.54, 7.00
The lip faces into the case, so you need a lip seal tool or a feeler guage to get it in without damage. I like to use a tapered feeler gauage that is about .022" thick. Works just fine if you can't get the tool. They tool is only about $10 though, and a NAPA or good auto parts store will either have one or can order it for you.
