Changing From 1350 To Stock.

I pick up a spohn shortened driveshaft for my retro t56. But i have a stock 10bolt that will not allow me to run the 1350 u joint. How do i change this. I looked on the website and it shows from going stock to 1350 but i need to go from 1350 to stock?

Thanks,

If the driveshaft yoke is a 1350 and the diff yoke isn't, you need a conversion u-joint or an aftermarket 1350 series 10 bolt yoke. The factory GM U-joint "might" be a 1310 series so you would need a combination u-joint that fits a 1310 on one yoke and a 1350 on the other.

Since you already know the driveshaft is 1350, take the diff yoke into your local autoparts store and have them match up what u-joint is needed for that yoke. Then just get the conversion u-joint with that on one side and 1350 on the other.

It should be a common conversion u-joint. You can even make an oddball conversion u-joint by mix and matching different u-joints as long as you know what your are doing.

Doing a quick search on Summit and Jegs, they have no listing for such a yoke but then they also don't list every item available. Only the more common items.

I really don't know if such a yoke is available. A huge 1350 u-joint connected to a tiny diff. Not exactly a common performance item.
