look at how the letters are arranged on the clutch, it should say something like "this side forward" or "this side back"

I'm not positive on a T56 style clutch, but I know on most clutches, the flywheel side just has a little cone that sticks out from the center of the disc with the rest being perfectly flat. The pressure plate side has a raised hub with the springs in it. The raised hub usually sticks up about 1/2".

On an LT1 T56 with stock style clutch, the centre hub part sticking out goes towards the engine. On all other F-body setups, it goes towards the transmission.

just make sure that the springs face the flywheel we did a clutch swap on my buddys car and the factory labeled the clutch wrong. when we put the side that said i think flwheel, we couldnt get the tranny to go it, flipped it around and it went right in.
