only 1st and reverse

the automatic tranny in my 85 camaro only has first and reverse maybe the high speed band but how do i go about adjusting that

Good possibility the governor gear stripped. Quite common in the 700R4's. Easy to check, pop the cover off, pull governor out, look at the gear.

- if it is a band, then its time for a rebuild....there is no adjustment.
