The moment ive been waiting for...

I GOT MY T56!!!

I finnally got my 6 speed transmission! After months of searching and dealing i found it. It was a deal over Camaroz28.com. Guy came down from MD and droped it off, really nice guy told me everything id ever need to know about it and installing it. He might possible help if i cant find anybody. Anyway its from a 1997, its got no more then 40-50k miles and it shifts perfect. Has a Mecleod Twin Disk Clutch setup(like i really need it) that can hold over 600hp lol. B&M short shifter, Complete Slave and all. Only thing i did not receive is the starter and the clutch pedals. Which i already have anyway. All i need is a Starter and a Crossmember then im ready for install!

I am just so excited so i had to share with everyone!

Some pics...

Nice tranny setup. I just picked up a T56 for myself. I still need to get a few parts before I can install it. What kind of Master Cylinder is that? It looks like a nice metal piece not the stock plastic one. Where did you get that? Also, what kind of shifter is that installed? Both look like nice parts and I'd like to get them for my setup.

Looks good. I can't wait to get to the point in my re-build to need a trans again, so I can order my T56.

vbMike - he listed the shifter as a B&M, but that does look to be a metal master cylinder.

I like my mechanical linkage.......

Its an adjustable master cylinder from Mcleod i needed it with the clutch and the shifter is from B&M.

Is that an old B & M shifter that they no longer make or something? I see it has a removable handle and none of the B & M shifters on the website have a removable handle. I'm trying to find an aftermarket shifter that I can put my own handle on.

Ya its gotta be, cause i was curious about it myself. Most aftermarket ones now are all 1 piece, but should still be able to use factory *****. I didnt really like this shifter at first, but now that i am used to it i like it. I wish it was a tad bit shorter throws...but oh well ill live with it.

stevo - my car isn't exactly stock. I'm running a standard SFI bellhousing, not the 3rd gen unit. My trans stands up square, and I have a custom mechanical linkage, old-school style with a "Z bar". When it's all done this go-round it will be sitting on a full tube chassis, - basically I'm only retaining the skin of the body. It will be a street car though, 17" wheels, full power accessories. I'm getting a T56 from rockland, 750hp rated, with the adapter to hook up to the old-school bellhousing.

.....So yeah, a mechanical clutch. I like being able to feel it, and my Hays Borg & Bech makes a hyd. clutch scream uncle....
