omfg wtf 700r4 servo help needed

been working on replacing my servo with an upgraded piece this morning and am having issues. The kit says that the servo can be changed with the trans in the car but i do not see how that is possible, i was able to remove the outer 2 discs but do not have the clearance to remoce the third cup looking disc or the pin/shaft. anyone else do this swap, or have this problem? really need help this is really frustrating

I believe you need to drop the valve body to get the servos out.

Are the servos open? If they are try pushing them closed. Can you take a picture of what you are talking about?

love to take a picture but dont have camera ready. there is a cast boss in the side of the trasnmission when the servo assembly in located. there is only about 1.25" of clearance between the lip of this boss and the body of the car, which is not enough room to remove the pin and the final servo plate. i need about 1/2 more room to remove these parts. i unbolted the trans mount and pushed the trans over as far as i can and still need 1/4 to clear... then after the part is removed, i have to re-install the new setup in 1 pc!? dont know if that will happen...

Car: projects.......
you'll probably have to drop the crossmember and lower the trans some....

....ever done servos? I'm guessing you haven't. - The servos are all on their own.

Remove the four crossmember to frame bolts, Remove the driveshaft, Use a jack to support the trans as you slowly lower it enough until you have enough room to pull out the servo guts. That's what they mean by "in the car".

Whenever you see a part that says it can be installed easily, they're not talking about a thirdgen.

the 1-2 shift is real snappy and the 2-3 is improved, well i could state whats on the box but thats useless

when i hammer the gas from a stop at idle it ripps, on second shift i am now actually having wheel spin issues that i need to address (need to tighten the lift bars up a bit on the right side)

i got a super servo and its cool as you read in my iother posts it was kind of a pain with a lot of cussing and griping at the car, but after a bit or pursuading it all worked out glad i did it.
