Thinking of going back to a 700r4

Just figured out my clutch is pretty much roasted(or will be soon enough), Id love to have a t-56 but the cost is alot more then getting a Mad-Dog 700r4 with converter ( any idea if this guy is good?)

Apprantly the correct tailshaft and tv cable + mounting brackets are included

So heres the question Besides a stock shifter all i would need is the right VSS and a flexplate correct?

Thanks for any info!

I've heard that the Mad-Dog transmissions are to be stayed away from. Apparently they are all happy to have you buy the tranny, but as soon as it goes bad then they have no customer service and will not do anything to help. It might be a wise investment in saving up for the t-56 and just be happy with it. Besides replacing your clutch will be cheaper than buying a new tranny.

Yeah but i mean i wanna do it right, With at least a spec clutch ( most likely needs a new fly wheel) then theres the t-56 itself and getting a good one.
i dont mind paying the money its just this car is the daily driver, and i dunno how long this clutch is gonna last i dont wanna get stranded and not be able to get to work it just seemed to me that a auto would be easier and cheaper by a big enough margin, BUT id obviously prefer the t-56 for sure

Well i suppose my main thing is why spend 250+ on a clutch for the t-5 when id have to change it down the road, we all know my t-5 is gonna explode sometime lol so i dunno I guess the cheapest/most quickest option would be to just get a nice center force clutch and hope i dont blow the t-5 till i have money for the t-56 conversion

shouldn't you just buy a $100 HD parts store clutch and go on with life for now until you can afford what you want? - makes a lot more sense to me.....

Just wanted to reiterate what the other guy said about Maddog. Stay FAR FAR away from that guy! Do a search on here for maddog and see for yourself how many unsuspecting people he's screwed! If you want an awesome 700r4, there's no substitute for a Pro-Built automatic from Dana. They're expensive, but well worth it. Otherwise, just go easy on your T-5 until you can afford a T56 or a Tremec TKO.

yeah, I've heard/seen a lot of crap about Mad Dog 700r4's. - I personally like PATC(raptor), but I have never heard or seen any issues with Dana's transmissions.

- also, if you do a search you'll find a several reason not to waste your $ with G-force on their T5 crap.....
