T-5 swap done have minor problems I need help with.
I have swapped my 700R4 to a T-5 in my 89 Trans Am GTA. The process wasn't as smooth as I had hoped and wanted you all to know that you need to change your starter and starter bolts as they are different sizes. Also the problem I have, which is a minor one is the speedometer connections are different on the 1989 T-5 and the 89 700R4. So the problem is I need to get the T-5 connector and install it on my harness so I can get my speedometer to work again. Dealers and Parts stores and major internet part suppliers don't carry these and as far as I can tell my last option is salvage. Does anyone have one to sell or know where I can get one.
Also does anyone know how to get the check engine light to go away. I think it is the torque convertor signal going to the ECM that is giving the trouble, but didn't know which wires to jumper.

Car: Depends on what day it is..
Engine: Um, Chevy small-block
Transmission: One that shifts
Axle/Gears: Got those too...
Assuming you do not have a functional speedometer, the check engine light youare getting is most likely a Vehicle Speed Sensor code.
I am pretty sure you can still get the t-5 vss sender that goes into the tranny tail housing and the pigtail with the connector. I remember buying one when I swapped a Richmond 6 speed into an 85 corvette with the old 4+3 tranny. Unfortunately, I sold the car and the parts list went with it....

Unfortunately the dealerships hear in Iowa don't have either part and can't get them due to they are discontinued parts. The only way I will be able to get them is through a salvage yard, a dealership with old stock and of course the internet via sites like this one. So far I have not bee succesful in locating one. I thought it would be a common problem for anyone who has done the swap and needs a pigtail.
Thanks for the reply...

FOund my connector on a 1999 Camaro Wiring harness. Put it on and everything works, even the check engine light is gone.
