T5 Swap on a 383.
Ok so I plan on swapping my 700r4 for a WC T5. My question is since my car has a flex plate based off a 400cu SBC for the 700r4 what will I need to make sure the motor is still balanced with a T5?
Again, my 383 is externally balanced and uses a flexplate from a 400. What do I need to get to keep the motor balanced if I get a T5?

You will either need an externally balanced flywheel OR a regular T5 flywheel with a balance plate (little piece of metal that costs like 15 bucks).

exactly, ive done this and am still fighting this, now if you make sure you compensate for the distance pushed back then you should be ok.
now mine already had the t5 in it, so thats why i tried it, but im already looking into stronger trannies because this one isnt gonna take a beating from my 406 for long.
ill sell you my t5 stuff if you want it though. weight and all

My system seems to be working ok? Or is this because maybe it hasn't broken yet? (I don't have any washers moving the slave towards the front of the car)

Like I said n that other post, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
I guess you're just one of the lucky ones, and Randy isn't so lucky.
