shifting problem
I wanted to let this car die, but i just cant. I just swapped out a vaccum advance dist. and an edelbrock carb. The cars running pretty good, its just having some problems shifting now. When your just driving it, itll hold onto a gear way too long, and itll shift at about 3000. When you floor it, itll spin the hell outta the tires, but it still shifts at 3000, instead of 4500 or so. Anyone got an idea of whats causing this/ how to fix it? It worked like a champ when i had my cc q-jet and dist in there. asny input would be awesome.

Did you get a proper geometry on the TV cable connection to the carb? You must have the proper geometry on the TV cable.
Did you get the TV cable adapter for your carb? It's about a $39 piece that gets connected to the linkage to properly align TV cable and geometry.
Did you install a torque converter lock up kit into the tranny? You'll never get the TC to lockup without it - although that only affects you at highway speeds.
The TV geomtery is the most important. It doesn't matter as much where in the adjustable range the cable gets adjusted, it matters at what point through the arch the cable starts getting pulled, and how far at that point in the arch (if that makes sense). It all has to do with distances and curvatures of the TV cable in relationship to the rest of the carb linkage.
