Bad Vibration between 80 and 90.
I just got my tranny rebuilt, and now I notice a real bad kind of loping vibration between 80 and 90 miles an hour. It disappears after about 90, and doesn't really appear until 82. It *shouldn't* be my tranny, but it's definately something in the drivetrain. Could they have installed the driveshaft 180 of how it's s'posed to be causing the vibe? Would new u-joints help this (mine are pretty bad)? What about front shocks (mine are pretty bad here too)? Same question with idler arm. Any help is appreciated.

Why didnt you install new u-joints when the trans was rebuilt? Did you also re-use the old transmission mount? As to the front struts and idler arm, have you taken it to an alignment shop to have them checked?
For my money, safety and sanity, I'd get those parts replaced if there was any doubt.
Good luck

Yea. The idler arm and struts are confirmed bad. New poly mount. And I dunno why I didn't have the u-joints changed. Woulda made sense, but I was focused more on the tranny at the time.
