Where to buy ring and pinion

Hi, I have the 2.73 posi in my 1992 Z28. I have been told i can run up to a 3.73 gear without changing the carrier with some new "special" gears for this swap. But, i can't find any. ANybody know where to look? Thanks

do a google

randysringandpinion.com has sets and tech info pages that explains carriers and breaks too,

summit racing

jegs

and so on, theres a billion other places that carry gear sets

they do make 3.73 gear sets for carrier series that they wold not have come with from factory yes, different thickness gear, than what the factory used

usually thicker, and would require special longer bolts

for all the money it would take to do all this you could pick up a basic 3.42 or 3.73 drum axle for the same or less, usually dirt cheap since they are common, especially around 83 84 85 86 years in the L69/auto trans cars

good luck

Randy's Ring and Pinion set me up with 3.73 (thick) gears that were installed onto my 2 series carrier. Didnt need replacement bolts, re-used the originals. You will also need at least the mini installation kit. I also ordered and installed a solid spacer that replaces the crush sleeve. It comes with shims and instructions.
