T5 WC expert -- is this output seal on my trans (pic)

Hi guys, I have a 2nd gen with a MAF TPI ecu and some other goodies (holley stealth ram, WB O2, etc). I did a T5 swap a while ago that went flawlessly. I rebuilt an absolutely grenaded T5 with new gears and a kit and it shifts (surprisingly) like brand new. However I was looking at some online pics to refresh my membory when I pull the tail to change the speedo drive gear when I change rear gears, and I saw a seal I didn't recognize.

Is that rubber seal near the splined output end supposed to be on my 1989 WC T5, or is that a non WC in the pic? It is entirely possible I put this in my trans when I rebuilt it and I just forgot, it's been a few years since I did it. Just need to know if I should be looking for it when I have the tail off.

Thanks!

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
All that is, is an O-ring. All it does is to keep fluid from getting out around the splines. I don't recall if both the 1st design and the 2nd design has it; but it's a very minor matter whether it's there or not. The speedo gear sleeve normally leaks more than that does even if it's missing, anyway.

That's what I figured, most transmissions don't even have that redundant seal against the splines. and Yes my speedo output is dumping fluid, I just got a replacement seal for the speedo housing the other day that needs to go in. Thanks
